3D file format

These are mesh exports. Native FBX, 3DS, IFC, STEP, DWG and RVT export requires conversion in another application.

Your fabrication workflow

New to digital fabrication?

Model size is the finished object's dimensions. Sheet size is the flat material that goes into your machine. Thickness is measured from that material.

Choose a method in the tabs above. Generate the parts, examine their numbers in 2D and Assembly, then use SVG or DXF for a laser workflow. PDF is a full-scale drawing. CNC output needs the machine's tool and clearance settings.

Start with a small model and cut a fit sample before committing a full sheet. Materials in the appearance library change the preview, not your cutting settings.

Smart geometry checks · automatic

Coincident vertices, small seams and inconsistent winding are repaired when their topology can be checked. Missing surfaces and intersecting solids require source-model repair.

How should the sections be spaced?

Stack whole layers of your sheet material between the sections. The gap must be a multiple of sheet thickness. Each layer receives its own part number. Use an appropriate fixing when no dowels are used.
